Travels with Carole: The Flavors of Santorini and Crete -- 2021
This mini island-hopping itinerary visits two Greek island gems. You'll start where we think every first timer to Greece should start: the stunning island of Santorini, famous for it's whitewashed cliff-side villages and it's romantic sunsets. It's the perfect place to relax and acclimate from your transatlantic journey. But it's not just for first timers, because I've got some special secrets to share. While your first 2 nights will be classic Santorini, the following days will be authentic real Greece. From there, you'll ferry to Crete, the largest of the Greek islands and the home of ancient Minoan palaces and striking landscapes like canyons, gorges, mountains, and beautiful beaches. It's also the breadbasket of Greece, and you'll have a chance to learn why farm to table isn't a fad here, but a way of life passed on through the generations.
